AMMC warns on fake land allocations

Arc. Fatima B. Shettima, Co-ordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), in a statement, warned that all developments on such plots and (or) allocations are illegal and will be treated as such by the Development Control Department of AMMC.

She said government agencies which had acquired and cleared such plots for their staff quarters or housing schemes, or their staff cooperative societies and other estate development companies are therefore advised to seek further clarification before engaging in any developments on such plots.

Arc. Fatima also said that affected members of the public and corporate bodies should note that the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the FCDA is the only establishment charged with the responsibility of designing layouts in actualization of the Master Plan of the FCT.

She said any development or plot that negates or is not based on approved layouts would be removed and no compensation would be paid on such removed structures.

The FCT Administration has raised alarm over what it describes as an unfortunate situation in which innocent people are being deceived into buying plots of land in unrecognized layouts with backdated AMAC allocation papers allegedly meant for estate developments along Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja.
